Menurutnya lagi BN hanyalah kerajaan minoriti, dengan demikian pembangkang adalah kerajaan sebenar kerana berjaya menguasai undi popular. Betulkah BN kerajaan minoriti dan layakkah Guan Eng mendakwa pembangkang adalah pihak majoriti?

Isu AMANAT HAJI HADI sememangnya bersangkutan banyak dengan akidah umat Islam. Terlalu banyak bidaah yang dilakukan oleh puak-puak PAS yang konon-kononnya untuk menyucikan akidah mereka. Anehnya, AMANAT tersebut, seandainya tidak bersangkutan paut langsung dengan UMNO sepertimana yang dihujahkan oleh para pecacai PAS di media maya sekarang ini, bagaimana mungkin sembelihan, perkahwinan, imam solat dan sebagainya boleh dibubarkan dengan sebegitu mudah hanya kerana songkok hitam dan kepiah putih atau UMNO dan PAS? 

dalam isu TABUNG DERMA MEMALI dan AMANAT HAJI HADI, ada buku dari orang PAS sendiri yang menerangkan perkara sebenar. Perkara yang langsung tidak berani disentuh, dikupas, dan dijelaskan oleh para pemimpin PAS, melainkan mengerah pecacai mereka menghina peribadi si penulis kedua-dua buku berkenaan selain cubaan menghalang buku-buku tersebut daripada beredar di pasaran dan dibaca lebih ramai orang.

Sultan Kelantan sudah memberi perkenan baginda dan tempoh pemerintahan PAS di Kelantan berterusan selama 23 tahun (28 tahun pada 2018). 

Lagipun, PAS berkuasa majoriti dalam DUN dan prasarana juga cukup. Dalam manifesto dan ceramah pilihan raya, pemimpin PAS masih menjaja isu ini. 

Menjelang PRU-13, PAS Kelantan mengumumkan penubuhan jawatankuasa teknikal (entah untuk kali ke berapa) bagi mengkaji pelaksanaan hukum hudud yang dipengerusikan Datuk Nik Amar Nik Abdullah, kini Timbalan Menteri Besar.

Namun, jawatankuasa ini tidak pernah dilaporkan bermesyuarat. PAS juga menambat hati pengundi Melayu-Islam Kedah dengan menjanjikan pelaksanaan hukum hudud jika menang dalam PRU-13. 

Apabila PAS menang, Menteri Besar (Allahyarham) Tan Sri Azizan Abdul Razak memberi alasan pentadbirannya akan melaksanakan hukum hudud di Kedah selepas Kelantan.

Sebenarnya bukan pasal Dr Mahathir, perkenan Sultan atau sekatan Perlembagaan. Hakikatnya ialah PAS takutkan DAP. Karpal pernah memberi amaran untuk langkah mayatnya jika PAS mahu melaksanakan hudud. 

Karpal kini berusia 73 tahun. PAS mungkin mahu tunggu Karpal benar-benar mati untuk merealisasi matlamat parti. Tapi percayalah, andainya Karpal meninggal dunia, masih ada ‘karpal’ lain dalam DAP yang akan tetap membantah hasrat PAS. Maknanya, selagi PAS bersama DAP dalam pakatan politik, selama itulah ia terpaksa menggigit jari.

Pakatan's crazy phantom voter game

IMAGINARY: The general election is over but opposition leaders seem unable to come to terms with the ghost of election past

ONE swallow does not a summer make, especially if the swallow is just an imaginary one created on the Internet to hoodwink the people.

For most, the 13th General Election (GE13) is over and done with but Pakatan leaders seem unable to come to terms with the ghost of election past.

Never mind that the "phantom voters" that haunt them are just imaginary, by virtue of the evidence (or rather the lack of it) gathered during GE13.

The incident in the Ladang constituency in Kuala Terengganu, where three former Universiti Malaysia Terengganu students were prevented from casting their votes by Pas supporters, speaks volumes about the phantom voters paranoia which the opposition had created.

The Indian youths from Kedah and Penang, aged between 24 and 27, were mistaken as Bangladeshis and threatened with a parang by the Pas supporters in their overzealous quest to find phantom voters.

When making assessment of news, one must not have any prejudice in order to make a sound judgment on its trustworthiness.

However, the deluge of speculations and allegations on the Internet of about 40,000 Bangla-deshi phantom voters being flown in a few days before polling day left no room for opposition supporters to think objectively about the situation.

Instead of clearing up the air by providing evidence about the phantom voters, the opposition stoked up their supporters anger by spreading the allegations in its political rallies.

Out of the 12 million registered voters, more than 10 million cast their votes on polling day -- a record turnout for the country.

Even if we were to assume that the 40,000 phantom voters existed, that would just be 0.4 per cent of the total voters' turnout.

Divide the 0.4 per cent by 222 parliamentary seats (the state seats don't count as the opposition were upset at not being able to wrest Putrajaya) then the number will be much smaller.

With the phantom voters being spread so thinly, how could the BN strategists -- whom the opposition had dismissed as being of little use because they could not think of how to reduce the price of petrol and increase the royalty payment by Petronas to 20 per cent simultaneously as promised in the opposition's manifesto -- translate the handful of phantom voters into a sure win?

One of the footages in opposition-linked blogs showed dark-skinned men, said to be the Bangladeshi phantom voters, being ferried out of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in vans.

If a van can accommodate 10 men, it would take 4,000 vans to ferry them. If a bus can carry 40 people, it will take 1,000 buses to take them all over Malaysia.

These are just the logistics and it is already mind-boggling.

It is no secret that the number of legal and illegal foreign workers here is huge, but why were the Bangladeshis singled out as the purported choice of BN to be used as phantom voters? Why not Indonesians, whose physical appearance closely match the Malays?

If one may speculate (the phantom voters issue was based on mere speculation anyway), the election results that showed a 60 per cent increase of Indian votes for BN may provide a clue.

If the allegations of Bangladeshi phantom voters, whose features closely resembled those of the local Indians, were created to lessen the Indians' chance of voting, then the case of the three former UMT students in Ladang showed that whoever had spread them had succeeded to some extent.

The rallies organised by the opposition to protest the GE13 results attracted hundreds of thousands, voicing their support for a review of the so-called tainted results.

Since the opposition had garnered more than five million votes in GE13, the thousands who thronged the rallies were only to be expected.

However, the post-election gathering at the Rusila mosque last week has a distinctly different air as the ones held elsewhere in the country.

True, the crowd size was comparable to the rallies held in the west coast but they were celebrating their unprecedented achievements in GE13, not about rejecting the results.

If they were to reject the results, Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, who spoke at length about the excellent achievements of Pakatan in GE13, would have to declare that his win in Marang and Rhu Rendang were also null and void.

Using the same argument, maybe opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will call for the resignation of Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng as the rally to reject the GE13 results there was a resounding success.

If Anwar were to say that only the results where BN win were unacceptable, then he would have to reveal how he was sure that the results where the opposition emerged victorious were not tainted by phantom voters.

If he could give a valid explanation on that, then perhaps he could give all the details of the phantom voters since he has such intimate knowledge of the phantom voters distribution.

Then maybe, just maybe, the Malaysians who were prevented from voting or harassed by opposition's ghost busters could get an explanation on why the politicians who shouted for democracy had worked so hard at denying them their democratic rights.

EC to use better ink in Kuala Besut

IMPROVEMENTS: Commission to address shortfalls over use of indelible ink during GE13

 ALOR STAR: A BETTER indelible ink would be used during the Kuala Besut by-election  in Terengganu, said Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof.

He said improvements would be made after identifying the ink's weaknesses during the recent 13th General Election.

"The GE13 was the first time we used indelible ink and there were some weaknesses.

"Among them was that the ink was easy to remove, slow to dry and could stain the ballot papers.

"The EC will get a better indelible ink for the Kuala Besut by-election, expected to be held this month, or any future election," Aziz said after attending an appreciation dinner for election workers here on Wednesday.

He said despite criticisms from the opposition, EC would continue to use indelible ink as it was stated in the election regulations.

"The use of indelible ink is stipulated in the election regulations. It is a must for EC to mark voters before they could cast their votes."

When asked if the ink to be used in the Kuala Besut would be the same colour as the one used during the GE13, Aziz declined to comment.

"This is to avoid any group from replicating the ink and using it to mar the by-election."

Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said he would discuss with EC to allow RTM to cover the by-election process, including placing its cameras in the vote-counting room.

"If there is a so-called 'blackout' during the vote-counting process, the people will be able to view it live," he said after opening a media seminar on the 13th General Election in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

The Kuala Besut state seat is vacant following the death of its assemblyman Dr A. Rahman Mokhtar on June 26.

Provide DAP delegate list

DISCLOSURE: Former branch chief urges two leaders to name people in CEC elections

BUTTERWORTH: FORMER Jalan Bagan Luar DAP branch chief G. Asoghan has challenged  DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and the party's national organising secretary, Anthony Loke, to furnish two lists of delegates involved in the controversial central executive committee (CEC) elections in Penang last December.

The first, he said, was for all the 2,576 delegates eligible to vote, and the second, those who had actually attended the elections.

"Why are they taking so long to reveal the lists? If there is nothing wrong with the delegates' attendance, then why is it so difficult for them to reveal it?" he asked.

He said the party should prove its transparency by forwarding the list of names to DAP leaders Datuk Teng Chang Kim, Boo Cheng Chai, Chow Kon Yeow, Ngeh Koo Ham and Nga Kor Ming, as well as to the public.

Asoghan also demanded that the party explain the alleged presence of 547 illegal delegates.

"We also want to know if it was true that there were 547 illegal delegates from Penang who had attended and had cast their votes during the CEC elections, and there were 1,300 eligible delegates who were not notified to attend the party CEC election."

Asoghan also called on Lim and Loke to respond to claims that the actual number of DAP delegates not notified of the CEC elections was 1,300 and not 753 as reported earlier.

"Lim and Loke must prove DAP's transparency by revealing the list of names of the 1,823 delegates who had attended and also the list of names of the 753 people who were not notified to attend the election," Asoghan said during

Asoghan said many grassroots members were anxious to know the truth behind the allegations of manipulation during the CEC election.

It was reported earlier that the Registrar of Society (RoS) did not recognise the party CEC's results, following complaints lodged by party members unhappy with irregularities found in the party's election results the party attributed to a "technical" glitch.

The glitch had caused party activist Vincent Wu to be moved to the 26th spot from his original sixth position, giving way to Lim's political secretary Zairil Khir Johari, who was originally in the 39th position, to move up to the 20th spot in the CEC election at the party's national congress in Penang on Dec 15 last year.

The party was also lambasted when 753 Indian members claimed that they were not notified of the CEC elections despite being eligible delegates.

Sultan: Respect my decision

ROYAL PREROGATIVE: Johor Sultan says appointment of Tee to the state exco is to preserve unity of his subjects

 JOHOR BARU: THE sultan of Johor wants all parties to respect his decision and stop bickering over the appointment of Datuk Tee Siew Kiong as state executive councillor.

Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, in a statement issued by his private secretary Jaba Mohd Noah, said all parties, including MCA and other political parties' members, must respect the decision on the appointment and abstain from questioning his authority as the state ruler.

"Tee's appointment was the sultan's choice which is provided for under Phase 4 Section II of the Johor State Constitution 1895.

"Sultan Ibrahim appointed Tee as he wanted to have representation from all races in the state exco line-up. The sultan is neither required to seek any opinion or suggestion with regard to Tee's appointment, nor compelled to explain the basis behind Tee's appointment," said the statement.

"Whatever problem which occurred in the political party associated with Tee should not have become an issue. Although Tee is suspended by his own party, he remains a state executive councillor appointed by the sultan.

"Whatever action needed to be taken by his political party against him is entirely the prerogative and the power of the party and its leaders.

"The sultan will not interfere in the affairs of any political party and also does not want any political party to interfere in any matter pertaining to his role as a ruler."

The statement also said that Sultan Ibrahim's aspiration is clear, that is to preserve and strengthen the unity of his subjects in Johor.

In an immediate response, Tee thanked the ruler for the statement which served to clear the air surrounding his appointment.

"The truth has finally prevailed. This showed that whatever I had told the disciplinary committee during the inquiry was consistent with what was stated in the statement issued from the palace, that is my appointment was not recommended by the party.

"Hopefully, this will end all the bickering for the sake of party unity. I also wish that the MCA transformation task force will play its role in uniting the party through their road shows."

Tee has become the subject of criticisms after he was appointed as a state executive councillor on May 14. The Pulai Sebatang assemblyman heads the state Tourism, Trade and Consumerism Committee.

Party critics viewed his appointment as a violation of the resolution passed by the party that no member should take up any government post if the party performed worse than in 2008.

Critics had also cast suspicion over his appointment, saying that the sultan did not name Tee to take up the exco post.

'Fraud commission not necessary'

SHAH ALAM: A Barisan Nasional assemblyman yesterday questioned the need for the state to set up a Selangor Commission of Election Fraud Investigation into the 13th General Election.

Speaking during a debate in the state assembly, Sulaiman Abdul Razak, the representative for Permatang, said that unsatisfied parties could file petitions in court and present their evidence at the hearing.

"Why did you all (Pakatan representatives) swear in as assemblymen?

"When you win, then the results are fair but when you lose, for example at the parliamentary level, then it is not fair."

He said the plan to set up the commission was just a political gimmick by Pas, PKR and DAP.

Meanwhile, Azmin Ali (PKR-Bukit Antarabangsa) said such a commission was needed as there was a wide range of election issues that had to be looked into, some of which may not be within the jurisdiction of the legal system.

"In the petition process, it focused only on specific issues. However, we have a need to debate on a wider range of issues, such as the use of indelible ink."

No contest likely for top five posts in Umno

KUALA LUMPUR: The Umno election, slated to be held later this year may not see any contest for the posts of president, deputy president and vice-presidents.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor yesterday lent his support for the idea of keeping the party's top posts uncontested.

Speaking to reporters at Parliament House, he said most Umno grassroots did not want any member to vie for the top posts as it might undermine the party's strength.

"That is the general opinion that I have gathered after visiting several divisions recently. We in Umno believe in guided democracy. In democracy, anyone can challenge anyone for a top post, but if it will destroy us, why should we do it?"

He, however, added that there should be contests for the top posts for the Youth, Wanita and Puteri wings.

"People on the ground feel that this is the way if we want to be a stronger party. In fact, we did well in the last election when we won 88 seats compared with 79 seats in 2008," he said.

Elaborating, Tengku Adnan said such a policy of no-contest would benefit the party as it would promote the spirit of muzakarah, or discussion.

"We should all just sit down and discuss who the best persons to lead the party are."

Commenting on whether it was appropriate to hold the Kuala Besut by-election during the month of Ramadan, Tengku Adnan said no problems would arise and that the by-election would go on as planned.

"There shouldn't be any problem with that. If you recall, the same thing happened exactly 34 years ago. The Kuala Besut state assemblyman then had died at the same place and on the same date," he pointed out.

Tengku Adnan also quashed speculation that a biometric authentication system would be used to verify the identity of Umno grassroots members at the party's branch meetings nationwide.

"No, the biometric system will not be used.

"However, we will scan the identification cards of members to ensure that the people who come from branches and divisions are the correct delegates."

Govt may up income eligibility for BR1M

THE government is mulling increasing the income eligibility for the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) from RM3,000 to RM5,000, said Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan.

If the idea is pushed through, it would mean that families earning RM5,000 and below would be eligible for the BR1M handout.

He was responding to Langkawi member of parliament Datuk Abu Bakar Taib in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday on whether the government would be willing to increase the BR1M eligibility amount for families.

"We are looking into increasing the income limit to enable more people to be eligible. We are also mulling other considerations for BR1M in the 2014 Budget."

He said the government was considering other proposals regarding the disbursement of BR1M, including dividing the amount between spouses.

Ahmad rubbished suggestions that the increase in the number of BR1M recipients this year was because of the rising poverty rate, as claimed by Sibu member of parliament Oscar Ling.

"I was asked why there was an increase of BR1M recipients from 4.8 million last year to 6.8 million this year. This is because there were an additional two million recipients who are single and earning RM2,000 or less.

"It has nothing to do with the number of hardcore poor," Ahmad said later, adding that the allocation for BR1M 3.0 would be announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak during the tabling of the 2014 Budget.

Ling had earlier suggested it was unusual that there was an increase in the number of BR1M recipients although the number of Malaysians in the low-income bracket had dropped since last year.

The government spent RM2.9 billion on BR1M 2.0 this year.

"The applications for BR1M were vetted by the Inland Revenue Board together with data checks from the National Registration Department and Public Service Department, among others, to ascertain eligibility.

"The distribution of BR1M is also in line with the government's aim to provide more targeted subsidies," said Ahmad.

He said the government would also fulfil its promise of increasing the BR1M allocation from RM250 to RM600 for bachelors and RM500 to RM1,200 for households, but would do it in stages.

"The government helps the people in various ways. One way is through indirect means, such as subsidies and the other is direct initiatives like BR1M."

PSM wants 'mutual respect'

The love-hate relationship between Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) and the opposition coalition looks likely to continue, at least for the time being.

This was after delegates at PSM's 15th national congress in Cameron Highlands endorsed a resolution for it to continue having dialogue with Pakatan on its relationship with the loose opposition coalition.

In his opening address at the congress on Friday, PSM president Dr Nasir Hashim admitted that their relationship with Pakatan was in shambles during the general election on May 5.

When contacted yesterday, party secretary-general S. Arutchelvan said the party was ready for future dialogue but this had to be based on mutual respect.

He said this was the consensus reached by the 300 delegates on the resolution on Saturday night. "PSM has not closed its doors on future dialogue with the Pakatan leadership. The ball now is in their court."

Arutchelvan also said the party was waiting for opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's next move following his recent statement that PSM was welcome to join Pakatan on condition that the party endorsed the opposition pact's common policy platform.

However, Anwar's statement contradicted that of PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution who had earlier stated that Pakatan would not be accepting PSM.

Arutchelvan, who retained his party post unopposed at the party's congress, said PSM would only decide on its next course of action after the dialogue had taken place.

He said that his party's dialogue with Pas on June 18 had yielded "quite positive results".

On another matter, Arutchelvan said the party's delegates had also endorsed a resolution calling for PSM to use its own emblem in the next general election.

PSM had sought to use its white fist emblem in the May general election, but did not get the consent from Pakatan's leadership, resulting in its candidates contesting under the PKR banner.

DAP wants Pas to boycott by-election

Move will send a strong signal of Pakatan's unhappiness over indelible ink, says Guan Eng

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng will propose to its coalition partner Pas  to boycott the Kuala Besut by-election.

The reason for it is because of the indelible ink issue. Lim said he would forward the proposal to Pakatan's supreme council. However, any final say on the matter would be left to Pas, he added.

"If Pas decides to contest, DAP will still render the necessary assistance," he said after opening the party's community centre here yesterday.

Lim said the Election Commission was confused over the use of the indelible ink and it was handling the matter lightly.

He also said the EC had yet to respond to Pakatan's claims of election fraud.

As such, Lim said boycotting the by-election would send a strong signal of Pakatan's dissatisfaction.

When asked how crucial the Kuala Besut seat was, Lim said if both sides of the political divide won 16 seats each, the state assembly speaker on the coalition to run the state government.

If Pas accepts DAP's proposal, it will not be the first time that Pakatan would be boycotting a by-election. In 2007, it boycotted the Batu Talam by-election in Pahang by not fielding any candidate.

The Kuala Besut by-election has to be held following the death of its assemblyman Dr A. Rahman Mokhtar (Barisan Nasional).

Dr Rahman, who was also state Health, Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman, defeated Pas' sole female candidate in Terengganu in the 13th General Election with a 2,434-vote majority.

Meanwhile, Bernama reports that the Besut Umno division is confident voters will support BN in the by-election.

Division information bureau chairman Datuk Wan Zakaria Abdul Rahman said this was because BN was fulfilling its promises made in the GE13 through various development projects.

WOW!!!! Cash bonus if you marry in Selangor

Couples intending to get married this year will receive a RM100 bonus on top of an earlier announced RM200 incentive.

Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said yesterday this was in line with Selangor Pakatan's promise in its 13th General Election manifesto to offer a RM500 gift to couples getting married for the first time.

Those who wish to apply for the incentive must be 35 years old or younger and must have been residing in Selangor for at least 15 years.

"It is also to collect information for use in other 'Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor' programmes, for example, including them in the state's affordable housing programme."

Khalid said during a marriage incentive giveaway ceremony at Bangunan Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah here yesterday.

He said the RM100 bonus would not apply to the first phase recipients who had received up to RM400 per couple in the ceremony yesterday, which involved about 170 couples. Couples can register at their community service centres in all 56 state constituencies.

PR bakal bawa usul tergempar

PR bakal membawa satu usul tergempar mengenai jerebu, Rabu ini, kata Setiausaha Agung DAP, Lim Guan Eng.

Ahli Parlimen Bagan itu berkata, perkara tersebut antara isu terawal yang akan dibawakan PR pada sidang Parlimen kali ini.

"Isu jerebu ini penting untuk dibincangkan dan diberi perhatian khusus.

"Kita harap ada satu tindakan yang dapat diambil bagi mengurangkan kesan jerebu, di samping memikirkan bagaimana krisis jerebu dapat dihindari daripada berulang lagi," katanya.

Beliau berkata, usul tergempar itu akan dibawa oleh Ahli Parlimen Kulai, Teo Ni Ching.

"Kami harap usul ini akan diterima Speaker dan dapat dibincangkan bersama supaya rakyat tahu apakah langkah yang dapat mengurang masalah ini," katanya.

Harap PR dan UMNO sama-sama menangani kes ni,untuk kesejahteraan rakyat Malaysia.

 Rakyat Selangor dinasihati sentiasa mengambil langkah berjaga-jaga bagi memastikan kesihatan tidak terjejas berikutan jerebu melanda negeri ini.

Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim dalam satu kenyataan media berkata, Kerajaan Selangor juga mengarahkan Pengerusi Jawatankuasa tetap Kesihatan Negeri, Dr Daroyah Alwi supaya mengedarkan topeng muka kepada orang ramai sebagai kesedaran perlunya menjaga kesihatan dalam keadaan berjerebu ini.

“Kementerian Kesihatan mengumumkan semua sekolah di Selangor ditutup semalam dan kerajaan negeri akan mencadangkan agar sekolah hanya dibuka sehingga Indeks Pencemaran Udara (IPU)  bertambah baik dan selamat kepada pelajar.

“Kerajaan Selangor juga sentiasa sedia untuk bekerjasama dengan Kementerian Kesihatan dan agensi berkaitan bagi memastikan kesihatan rakyat terpelihara,” katanya.

Beliau turut mengingatkan rakyat supaya mengehadkan aktiviti luar rumah dan lebihkan minum air bagi mengelak kesan akibat pendedahan secara berterusan kepada jerebu seperti sukar bernafas, mata pedih dan berair, kegatalan pada kulit dan tekak serta sesak nafas dan sentiasa memakai topeng muka ketika berada di luar atau tempat terbuka.

Peningkatan IPU yang begitu mendadak sehingga mencatat paras indeks yang tidak sihat turut melanda negeri Selangor di mana beberapa kawasan mencatatkan IPU melebihi 100.

Antara kawasan paling terjejas di Selangor adalah Pelabuhan Klang apabila mencatatkan IPU mencecah bacaa 314 pada jam 3 petang semalam.

Speaker: Cadangan PR ditolak

Cadangan PR untuk menamakan calon Timbalan Speaker tidak diterima Yang Dipertua Dewan, Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia apabila mereka gagal ikut peraturan 6(2).

Peraturan tersebut memerlukan setiap parti mengisi borang cadangan dan diserahkan 14 hari sebelum Dewan mula bersidang.

Oleh yang demikian, calon yang dicadangkan BN iaitu Ahli Parlimen Beluran, Datuk Ronald Kiandee dan Ahli Parlimen Kuala Krau, Datuk Ismail Mohamed Said telah dilantik sebagai Timbalan Yang Dipertua Dewan Rakyat bagi penggal Parlimen ke-13.

Keputusan itu diumumkan selepas semua Ahli Parlimen selesai mengangkat sumpah.

"Saya tidak boleh menerima cadangan PR kerana gagal mengikut peraturan. Saya juga tidak melonggarkan peraturan mesyuarat kerana kegagalan anda berbuat demikian.

"Kalau anda (PR) tidak puas hati, mengapa tidak fail notis cadangan kepada pejabat Speaker 14 hari sebelum persidangan hari ini," katanya.

Kiandee dan Ismail merupakan dua nama yang dikemukakan oleh Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dalam surat bertarikh 6 Jun kepada pejabat Speaker. Ini merupakan penggal kedua

Kiandee dilantik sebagai Timbalan Speaker.

Manakala, pelantikan Ismail yang juga Pengerusi Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) mengisi kekosongan satu lagi jawatan selepas Ahli Parlimen Santubong, Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar dilantik sebagai Timbalan Menteri Dalam Negeri.

Padang Merbok: Aktivis enggan berganjak

Sekumpulan aktivis yang berkhemah di Padang Merbok hari ini menegaskan bahawa mereka tidak akan berganjak dari tempat tersebut walaupun telah diberi notis oleh Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL).

Menerusi laman sesawang Facebook Pengerusi Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM), Badrul Hisham Shahrin atau lebih dikenali sebagai Chegubard berkata, mereka akan terus bertahan meskipun dihalang berkhemah di situ oleh pihak DBKL.

“DBKL dan polis datang dengan lebih ramai. Mereka sudah berbaris, mungkin tapak khemah akan diserang teruk.

“Kami akan cuba pertahan. Mohon malam ini semua berkumpul di Padang Merbok,” katanya.

Mereka yang berkhemah di sana turut mencipta lagu bagi meningkatkan semangat mereka untuk kekal di sana.

Antara petikan lirik lagu tersebut adalah: “DBKL  sangat baik hati, jaga kami dari malam tadi, kerja anda kami hargai, sampai esok kami di sini.

"Wahai SPR letak jawatan, kamu angkuh kami bertahan, demi prinsip demi masa depan."

Dalam pada itu, dipetik menerusi Bernama, kira-kira 150 orang masih tidak menunjukkan tanda-tanda untuk meninggalkan kawasan itu, sebaliknya hanya bertindak menurunkan struktur khemah sahaja.

Seorang daripada kalangan yang berkhemah di situ yang hanya ingin dikenali sebagai Hashim, 49, berkata dia mengambil keputusan untuk bersama dengan penyokong lain walaupun keadaan cuaca berjerebu.

Sehingga 4.30 petang ini mendapati masih terdapat kira-kira 30 buah struktur khemah ditempatkan di kawasan Padang Merbok.

Pada pukul 3.50 petang kelihatan beberapa buah kenderaan DBKL bersama anggota penguat kuasa tiba di padang itu bagi mengambil tindakan dan memantau keadaan di kawasan sekitar.

DBKL mengeluarkan notis dua jam pada 10.15 pagi ini kepada kumpulan yang berkhemah di Padang Merbok untuk mengosongkan kawasan itu.

SPR: 'Kami tak akan berganjak'

Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (SPR) menegaskan pihaknya sama sekali tidak akan berganjak dengan desakan pembangkang dan peserta Black505 supaya berundur.

Timbalan Pengerusi SPR, Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar berkata, tuntutan mereka jelas melanggar peruntukan di bawah Perlembagaan Persekutuan.

Menurutnya, PR tidak perlu mengheret rakyat bagi menjayakan rancangan politik khususnya berhubung tuntutan supaya pegawai tertinggi SPR letak jawatan.

"SPR tak akan tunduk dengan tuntutan yang tak masuk akal itu.

"Kita tak akan berganjak. Tak perlu nak teruskan perhimpunan yang menyusahkan rakyat dan pihak lain kerana SPR tetap dengan pendirian sebelum ini.

"Tak akan ada perubahan, atau mereka ini sengaja mahu menyusahkan penguatkuasa, orang ramai dan untuk memalukan negara?," katanya kepada Sinar Harian Online.

Semalam penganjur meneruskan himpunan Black505 di Padang Merbok walaupun pada mulanya gagal mendapat kelulusan daripada Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) dan keizinan polis.

Bagaimanapun, setelah keengganan penyokong PR berundur kebenaran telah diberikan.

Perhimpunan yang dikatakan kemuncak itu turut mengulangi tuntutan supaya pegawai tertinggi SPR meletak jawatan, selain memberi amaran supaya tidak melakukan proses persempadanan semula sebelum suruhanjaya baru itu dibentuk.

PR juga dilihat lantang menggesa SPR mengadakan pilihan raya kecil bagi kawasan yang telah difailkan petisyen.

Mengulas lanjut, Wan Ahmad menasihatkan supaya PR tidak membuat keputusan terburu-buru mengenai perkara yang tidak sahih.

"Mereka ini (ahli Parlimen baru) kadang-kadang tak tahu pun persempadanan semula itu dilakukan macam mana, mereka hanya ikut ahli Parlimen lama.

"Perkara tersebut ada langkah-langkahnya sendiri, bukan SPR yang putuskan, SPR hanya cadangkan syor, kalau mereka tak puas hati boleh bantah," ulasnya mengenai isu persempadanan semula yang dibangkatkan PR pada himpunan tersebut.
