Guan Eng rapped for fanning hatred

CM blames Umno at inter-religious goodwill dinner

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was criticised for abusing a forum intended to foster goodwill among the races to attack his political enemies and fanning racial hatred.
Lim had used the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) Penang inter-religious goodwill dinner here on Sunday night to criticise Umno.
The event, which was supposed to foster closer relations between the different religions in the country, was turned into a political forum by Lim to campaign for Pakatan Rakyat.
State Umno liaison chief Datuk Zainal Abidin Osman said it was unbecoming of Lim as a chief minister to spread hatred and insult Umno at such a forum.

Lim's speech at the function was centred on hitting out at Umno, which was accused of taking on extremist views and not respecting the rights of non-Muslims.
Lim had touched on the demolition of an old Indian shrine by Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB) but failed to mention anything about the demolition of an altar by the Sepang Municipal Council in Selangor.
He also took a potshot at Perkasa calling it a racist and extremist organisation.
