PKR members violating party policies will be sacked: Saifudin

PKR members violating party policies will be sacked: Saifudin

PETALING JAYA (April 29, 2013): Members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) found to have violated party policies and regulations, especially throughout the campaign period for the 13th general election, will be sacked.
The announcement was made by PKR secretary-general Saifudin Nasution Ismail at a press conference at the PKR headquarters here today.
"We will continue collecting information and evidence about the offences committed by our members, especially if they were found to have violated party policies during the election period.
"Follow up actions, including expulsion, will continue to be taken," he said.
Saifuddin's announcement followed the statement made by PKR information chief Tian Chua that the party had sacked 34 of its members for submitting their nomination papers as Independent candidates for the May 5 polls.
PKR president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail was reported to have given them until 5pm last Thursday to apologise to the party and withdraw their candidacies. – Bernama

TAPI MENGAPA SEKARANG MENGAPA TIDAK DARI DULU BAGI PENJELASAN???APA MOTIF DAP KALI NI?/Jangan percaay dengan kata-kata Dap.Dap memang rasis.

PR mula gelabah,takut hilang Selangor

Rakyat bangkit tolak PR.!!!

2,000 Murut sokong PR, Umno Beaufort lumpuh

YE lah tue, tunggu je lah keputusan masa hari mengundi nanti..

Hudud: MCA hails DAP man for speaking the truth

JOHOR BARU (April 28, 2013): Johor DAP deputy chief Norman Fernandez's call on Saturday to non-Malays not to vote for PAS which is hell bent on creating an Islamic state, has drawn mixed reactions from both sides of the divide.
Fernandez, in a blog posting at syedsoutsidethebox.blogspot.com, had said that as a non-Muslim, he will not be voting for PAS.
"PAS's insistence and open pronouncement of its unilateral stand will once again come to haunt PAS and non-Muslims, now knowing of PAS's agenda, must decide if they want to gamble and risk their future with PAS," he wrote.
"PAS has made the implementation of hudud as its holy grail. Despite assuring non-muslims that hudud will not be applicable to non-Muslims, PAS leaders such as Datuk Hadi Awang has obviously forgotten that he is on record stating that non-Muslims will also be subjected to hudud," Fernandez added.
The MCA immediately declared itself vindicated as it claims Fernandez's statement proves that "a vote for DAP, is a vote for PAS".
MCA president Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek publicly congratulated Fernandez for his bravery in speaking out the truth.
"He upholds justice and supports what has been said all this while by MCA, which is that non-Muslims have to be careful before voting for PAS," Chua told a press conference today.
Chua said Fernandez had pointed out that DAP and PAS are close allies, and that the latter will not so easily give up its "mission" to implement hudud.
"Coming from a senior DAP leader... It carries a lot of weight. (This means) that a vote for DAP is a vote for PAS," he said, hitting the table for emphasis.
Chua said people have accused the MCA of 'spinning' the hudud issue, but now with Fernandez's statements, he hopes the Chinese community will "open its eyes".
He also challenged DAP to sack Fernandez if what he had written is untrue.
On Saturday, PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali reiterated the party's determination on the issue, saying it will not waver from its "Islamic state" agenda and implementation of hudud law.
He stressed, however, that hudud is only PAS's agenda and not that of the Pakatan Rakyat, adding that its implementation is not automatic if the coalition becomes the federal government.
In an immediate response, Johor DAP chief Dr Boo Cheng Hau chided Fernandez for his article, which was described as "ill-timed".
"He should be careful when issuing such statements at this time as it will cause confusion," Boo told a press conference this morning, but declined to elaborate further.
In Penang, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said the party will leave it to the Johor DAP leadership to decide on the next course of action in dealing with Fernandez.
"This is his own view and is not that of the party," said Lim.
He urged the public to continue supporting Pakatan Rakyat in the general election.
"If you see PAS (logo), vote for PAS, if DAP, vote for DAP, if PKR vote for PKR," Lim said.
PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub also dismissed the statement as being Fernandez's personal view.
"It will not affect the solidarity and understanding among top Pakatan Rakyat leaders, nor will it jeopardise grassroots support for the coalition in Johor.
"I don't think there will be any impact. We are all focused and united towards achieving the same goal," Salahuddin said.
He said it is normal for "friends" to have differences in opinion and it is something accepted by top leaders from both PAS and DAP.
"Even a married couple will have occasions when they disagree with one another ... let alone in politics," said Salahuddin, who has been named as Pakatan Rakyat's candidate for Johor mentri besar should it wrest control of the state government from Barisan Nasional.

Pemuda PAS sokong, pengerusi BN perlu mohon maaf

Shabery raps Husam for youth festival comments

PUTRAJAYA (April 25, 2013): Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek has lambasted PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa for saying the "A Million Youth Gathering" would be postponed should Pakatan Rakyat come into power.
Ahmad Shabery said the youth festival is an important event and no where else in the world is an administrative capital given over to youth to allow them to display their talents and creativity for the rakyat and policymakers.
"He (Husam) has not attended the festival so he does not understand it.
"(I believe) he has simply read news reports that may appear to be negative but he has not seen the good aspects of this festival," Ahmad Shabery told the media at his ministry.
He said the festival from May 23 to May 26 will proceed as planned and all booths have been booked.
"There will be more than 500 events happening and people will benefit from it," he added.
In a press conference earlier, Husam had said Putrajaya residents were against the hedonistic nature of the festival.
He also said the ministry had frozen the Youth Economic Fund (YEF) for three years citing lack of repayment from borrowers.
"If there was a shortage of funds, how could the ministry have afforded to hold the 'A Million Youth Gathering' in Putrajaya in 2012, spending RM32 million for the programme?" Husam asked.
He claimed the cost of the festival this year would be about RM20 million.
"This programme does not give impact at all to youths. The ministry paid a lot of money just to get international artistes to perform."
Husam said if Pakatan Rakyat were to form the next government, it would postpone the festival and make YEF available again.
To this, Ahmad Shabery questioned why similar funds had not been set up in Kelantan, although the federal government had provided allocations for youth programmes.

DPM: Do not change drivers

SEGAMAT (April 25, 2013): The "high-speed train of national transformation" will be derailed if there is a change in government, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said today.
Likening the country's journey to development and transformation to a train, Muhyiddin warned that changing "drivers" may lead to disaster.
"(Prime Minister) Datuk Seri Najib (Abdul Razak) is now in the driver's seat, bringing the high-speed train to transformation, and he knows where the destination is and where he is going."
Muhyiddin was addressing a crowd of some 1,500 people, mostly civil servants, at the launch of the 1Malaysia Help for Housewives scheme.
"Do we go straight forward to become a developed nation or along the way we change the driver just because some people say 'ubah' (change) ... and end up in the ravine?" he asked, alluding to the Opposition's rallying cry of "change" in this general election.
He chided the Opposition for not having any experience in governing the nation.
"They have no experience, but we (Barisan Nasional) have 56 years of experience!" he charged.
Muhyiddin also said the Opposition often trumpets that the BN government has ruled for too long, and is too "old" and dated.
"I say it is not about age, it is about leadership capabilities," he said.
Muhyiddin made light of the massive turnout at an opposition rally in Segamat on Wednesday.
The ceramah, which was attended by Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, saw a huge turnout of some 20,000 people.
Asked by the press to compare the turnouts at their respective ceramah, Muhyiddin said the BN campaign is going well and that BN has conducted many well-received programmes.
"We are not affected by numbers ... We also have thousands at our ceramah," he said.

Vote BN to maintain peace, harmony: DPM

LUMUT (April 24, 2013): Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today spoke about "Malaysia then and now" to highlight Barisan Nasional's (BN) accomplishments, during his campaign to touch base with the Malay community here.
Speaking to more than 1,200 BN supporters in the Pasir Panjang state constituency, he said Malaysia has achieved all that it has today because of BN's efforts and urged the people not to forget the services of the government.
"The Opposition will always say that development in Malaysia is unfair and that it helps only one race and neglects others.
"You can see for yourselves whether the allegations hurled at the government are true," Muhyiddin said.
Stressing that Perak is one of the states in the country that has reduced its poverty rate, he said this could only be achieved under BN.
Pointing to the growing economy in the country, Muhyiddin compared how people lived 30 years ago to the living standards today.
"This is the reason all of you should vote for BN. All these years, people have lived comfortably and peacefully.
"Do you want to change this situation? Do you want a country with chaos and disharmony?" he asked.
Muhyiddin said the Opposition's cries for change (ubah) will not work, because the people are comfortable with what they have now.
Vote for BN forever.......

Takiyuddin minta Fatmi kemuka bukti

Ramakrishnan: Mutton curry quote taken out of context

LABIS (April 24, 2013): The DAP candidate for the Labis Parliamentary seat S. Ramakrishnan said his quotes in a recent talk where he said Indian votes are not easily bought with beer and mutton curry was taken out of context.
He said his actual meaning was that MCA thinks Indian votes are easily bought with mutton curry and beer, and was not meant to belittle the Indian community.
"My statement has been twisted by MCA. Perhaps because the quote was slightly mistranslated," he told theSun today.
Ramakrishnan was responding to incumbent Labis MP Datuk Chua Tee Yong, who allegedly said his statement was racist in nature.
Meanwhile, Ramakrishnan also said that his planned event at the Achi Jaya plantation was disrupted as the workers there were told not to organise it.
"The workers were also prevented from putting up any banners deemed supportive of Pakatan Rakyat, but the Barisan Nasional ones are up," he claimed.
He said estate holders and employers should allow their workers to express their support openly, and urged the Election Commission (EC) to issue a statement to allow both parties to touch base with the workers.

Pixman punched at DAP ceramah

GEORGE TOWN (April 25, 2013): A photographer from China Press was punched by a man said to be wearing a 1Malaysia T-shirt at a DAP ceramah in a BN stronghold seat, Kampung Sungai Gelugor in Gelugor last night.
The photographer K W Sin, 25, sustained a blow to his right ear in the 9.45pm incident, but was none the worse for it.
The man is reported to have hit Sin after he was seen snapping pictures of a group of men wearing 1Malaysia T-shirts.
Prior to the incident, the pixman was warned by the group against taking its pictures.
Sin said the man fled the scene after hitting him.
He has lodged a report at the Jelutong police station.
Some 15 minutes earlier, Datuk Keramat incumbent assemblyman Jagdeep Singh Deo's speech was disrupted when more than 50 motorcyclists wearing 1Malaysia T-shirts booed and shouted at him as they rode past the venue.

Dilemma for Sg Siput voters

SUNGAI SIPUT (April 23, 2013): The battle between two strong names – PSM's Dr Michael Jeyakumar and MIC's Datuk S.K. Devamany – leaves voters in a dilemma over who to choose to champion their interests.
The tug-of-war is not just between the "clenched fist" and the "balance", but between a face that is familiar and hardworking but lacking in resources, and someone who has not been tried and tested but has access to resources.
Although Devamany is known to have strong support in Cameron Highlands, where he served for 10 years, in Sungai Siput, he is a new face.
"Devamany is from Ipoh but he was not here for many years and in Sungai Siput, he is a new face. We are not sure how much he can do for us.
"Dr Kumar (Jeyakumar), on the other hand, we know very well. We have seen his work, his efforts," said R. Kalaiarasi, 40, who attended Devamany's meet-the-people session here on Sunday.
The Indian community's anger towards MIC may seem to have subsided since the last general election but their impression of the party has not changed.
"Devamany may be a good man, but MIC is not …" Meenakshi Ratnam, 38, told theSun.
This general election will be a tough fight for Devamany as the people in Sungai Siput are trying to see him separate from his party.
The people generally greeted him warmly and praised his humility.
However, their reactions noticeably changed when Devamany's MIC allies appeared.
Asked why this was so, a few who attended, said on condition of anonymity that the people here still had doubts about MIC championing their interests in the long term.
"I am not sure about his (Devamany's) influence here but if my family and I decide to vote for him, it may be because of his reputation and not in support for the MIC.
"Many of us still cannot accept MIC as the Indians' party… they always do things for themselves, their own families," said a 43-year-old man who only wanted to be identified as Manikanthan.
He said it was not easy for the people to vote for MIC again, but added that he went to the sessions organised by MIC to see how much the party was doing for the people.
A 69-year-old retired school teacher, who did not want to be named, said: "MIC cannot be in denial. They must accept that people have seen how they have been all these years."
He said MIC is offering funds to develop Tamil schools and said the Barisan Nasional (BN) government has approved the funds, but added: "But it seems like the Indians are only relevant to the government in times of election."
Acknowledging the "good work" of Jeyakumar during his tenure, especially in land issues and housing lots for the communities, M. Malliga, 50, said he has to struggle to obtain funds for development.
"But MIC is rich," she said, referring to the accessibility of funds by MIC through the BN.
She said people can see that if MIC wins Sungai Siput it has the resources and funds to help the constituents but asked: "Will this be permanent?"
Several men at a Chinese kopitiam in town shared the retired teacher's sentiment, saying: "The poor people are only visible during elections."
"We see MIC flags here and there for the last few months. They are trying to show their presence here again. We will see…" said Chau Hong, 53, who was having breakfast with some friends at a coffee shop in town.
"That MP Kumar (Dr Jeyakumar) did help the people. You ask these people doing business, they will tell you about Kumar," said Chau Hong's friend who declined to be named.
It was an interesting sight when a mechanic, who has been operating a small workshop for over 30 years, welcomed Jeyakumar into his workshop and showed him all the previous campaign brochures and letters from Jeyakumar.
Although he openly expressed his support for Jeyakumar, he refused to be named, saying: "I am doing business here, I do not want to face problems later."
Jeyakumar, who relies mainly on his service to the people and their loyalty to him and PSM, would have to struggle for the bigger picture of his service under the Pakatan Rakyat banner, while Devamany's struggle is to convince voters to trust him and MIC.

Best man win!!!

The mother of all battles

Lim Kit Siang. SUNPIX
IN the months leading up to the polls, the general sense that everyone had was that the Lembah Pantai battle between PKR's Nurul Izzah and Umno's Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin would be the one to watch. Nothing would be more exciting.
Even when DAP's Lim Kit Siang announced he would be contesting in Johor, of all places, that in itself would not have eclipsed the Lembah Pantai contest. However, when Umno decided to field former Johor mentri besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman to defend Gelang Patah, it became THE contest to watch.
This is, to borrow a phrase from Saddam Hussein, "the mother of all battles" in GE13. No other contest involving any other national level leader would be this exciting. Not even close.
Most of us probably had not heard of Gelang Patah before this. Like many constituencies in Johor, it's a Barisan Nasional (BN) stronghold. Despite the fact that it has a slight Chinese majority demographic, it managed to withstand the political tsunami that swept through most of Peninsular Malaysia in 2008.
Gelang Patah was firmly in MCA's grip through four election cycles. In 2004, its candidate Tan Ah Eng had a whopping majority of more than 30,000 votes. Although her majority was decreased to slightly under 9,000 votes in 2008, it was still a comfortable margin.
So, why is Kit Siang doing this? There are multiple reasons. One very basic one is to win a new parliamentary seat for DAP. This is something he has done throughout his career, moving from one constituency to another and establishing new strongholds for his party.
He stumbled once, in 1999, when he tried to win a new seat for DAP in Penang and lost. But he came back and managed to take a new seat for DAP in Perak in 2004. Overall his track record is pretty impressive.
But going to Johor is not just about winning an additional seat for his party. There is some psychological warfare at play here. It's about striking into the heart of BN country, much like how PAS's Datuk Husam Musa is contesting in Putrajaya.
It does wonders to boost the morale of his party and the Opposition coalition.
When Kit Siang chose Gelang Patah, he probably thought he would end up going against Jason Teoh, a relative lightweight next to him. Even if MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek had taken up his challenge to contest there, Kit Siang probably figured he could win rather easily.
BN responded with a shock-and-awe strategy by fielding Ghani, without question the biggest name in Johor politics. And he's not some divisive figure like Ibrahim Ali or Zulkifli Noordin, but rather a leader with a genuinely moderate image who is seen to have done a good job as mentri besar.
This surely would have taken Kit Siang by surprise but it's not something that will rattle him. He's battled big names before. In 1986, he took on then rising star Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, and won. Then in 1990, he took on the legendary Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu and won. Will he be able to score a hat-trick?
To analyse the odds, one has to look at the demographics. About 53% of the electorate is Chinese, 34% Malays and 13% Indian.
A lot of different voting configurations have been bandied about but there seems to be general sense that Kit Siang has to win at least 70% of the Chinese votes, 50% of the Indian votes and 20% of the Malay votes to defeat Ghani.
Will he be able to garner at least 70% of the Chinese votes? Most political observers seem to think so. Whether he can get at least 50% and 20% of the Indian and Malay votes, respectively is another thing. That's the big unknown.
Next, let's look at the prospects for these men. Both Ghani and BN have to win in order for Ghani to still have any political career to speak of. If Ghani wins but BN loses, he doesn't have much to look forward to as an opposition MP.
If Ghani loses but BN wins, his career is over as he probably won't be made a minister via senatorship in a BN cabinet.
In contrast, if Kit Siang wins but Pakatan Rakyat (PR) loses, he would be regarded as a hero who's set the stage for a further onslaught into BN territory in the next election, much like what he did in Perak (he won in 2004 and by 2008, PR was able to win that state).
If Kit Siang loses but PR wins, it's almost certain he would be made a senator in a PR cabinet.
So, although it's a high stakes game for both, in the final analysis, Ghani probably has more to lose. One thing's for sure though, the whole nation will be watching the outcome of this most exciting contest in Gelang Patah.
