Kelantan Umno will only recommend candidates with a strong chance of winning in the general election.
Kelantan Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said the concept of "winnable" candidates meant that Umno divisional leaders, including their chiefs, should not expect to be selected automatically into the candidates' list.
"It is not important whether they are ordinary people or hold big positions.
"The main focus is winnable candidates," Mustapa said after launching the Friends of Tok Pa Club for his online friends on Sunday.
The mainstream media have played their role but it is not enough.
"The younger generation are more interested in the social media.
"For the next election, it will play an important role.
"That is why we must use Twitter and Facebook to give information to our supporters beside fighting the lies spread by our foes.
"I hope my Facebook friends will play a bigger role in disseminating information and stopping the lies."Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said
