DAP hands over report on polls result changes

PUTRAJAYA: DAP has submitted a full report on the changes to the election results of its central executive committee to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) .
According to DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke, the report explained in detail events that led to the error in announcing the winners.
Three weeks after the CEC election, DAP said there was a “technical glitch” in the tabulation of the results.
Zairil Khir Johari, an aide of party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, was moved up from the 39th spot to 20th position, allow-ing him to be in the CEC as an elected member.
The alleged error also saw the resigna- tion of election director Pooi Weng Keong.
The RoS asked for the report last week and instructed the party to submit reports on the Dec 15 national congress and all meetings held after that.
“They also wanted to know the total number of delegates in the congress, which is 2,576, and how many attended, which was 1,823,” Loke said after submitting the reports to the RoS here yesterday.
Loke said the additional reports were on top of the DAP annual report which was submitted to the RoS on Feb 8.
“We have admitted there were errors in the announcement of the winners and explained everything,” he said.
Several DAP members have filed complaints with the RoS, claiming manipulation of the election results.
