CLEANLINESS NEXT TO GODLINES

HYGIENE appears to still be an alien concept to some Malaysians. When the two eateries in Malacca were ordered closed recently, it was because the health inspectors had seen rats running around in one and vermin breeding in  broken-down refrigerators in the other.
Of course, as to be expected, they were also  dirty in other ways. Simply put, the health standards were deplorable. One wonders how many more dirty eating places like these exist in the country.
